Changed Traffic Conditions

Red CentreNATS 12 is kicking off fromThursday 3 September and we’re looking forward to sharing another massive weekend of cars, bikes, racing and community events with the people of Alice Springs!

With some of our much-loved events taking over the CBD and surrounding areas, there will be some traffic and parking changes across the weekend. Here’s what you need to know: 

FRINGE FESTIVAL - 3 SEPTEMBER | Location: Alice Springs Central Business District

Traffic Management measures to be implemented as follows:

• 6:00am – Car Parking - Cones will be installed taking out carparks along Todd Street & Gregory Terrace
• 4:00pm – Road Closures: Todd Street from Stott Tce to Gregory Terrace; and Gregory Terrace between Leichardt Tce and Hartley Street closed between.
• 10:00pm - All traffic management and Road Closures removed

MACCA'S RUN - 4 SEPTEMBER | Location: MCDONALDS CAR PARK

Traffic Management measures to be implemented as follows:

• 9:30am - Traffic control is implemented - one way traffic flow implemented within the Macca Carpark.
• 12:00pm - All traffic management and Road Closures removed

YEPERENYE STREET PARADE - 5 SEPTEMBER | Location: CBD

Traffic Management measures to be implemented as follows:

• 6:00am - The existing car parks will be closed off from the public along: Todd Street, from Gregory Terrace to just south of the 24-hour store on Todd Street & Gregory Terrace, from Hartley Street to Todd Street
• 3:00pm - Detours will be in place from along Stephens Road, with access for residents maintained.
• 5:00pm -6:00pm Road Closures will be in place for the Yeperenye Street Parade.
• 6pm - All traffic management and Road Closures removed

YEPERENYE STREET PARADE - 5 SEPTEMBER | Location: LASSETERS PRECINCT

Traffic Management measures to be implemented as follows:

• 3:00pm - Yeperenye Street Parade form-up commences.
• 3:00pm - Stephens Road partial road closure commences. Detour for local traffic via Maconochie Rd & Irrampenye St commences.
• 4:45pm - Barrett Drive road closure between Stephens Road and Lasseters Casino Entrance.
• 5:00pm - Stephens Road full closure commences.Local traffic access to be facilitated on a case-by-case basis by traffic controllers on the ground.
• 5:00pm - Parade commences.
• 5:30pm - Estimated time Barrett Drive and Stephens Road.
